I took my first yoga class in 1999, at a studio in North London. I'd been living abroad there for about a decade, and in the fall of 2000 I moved to California and started to dive setriously into my yoga practice. I took a 200-hour teacher training though Yoga Works in 2004. At the time, I was a touring musician, and nearly 20 years on the road had resulted in subtle strains and injuries that prompted me to explore how yoga can help to address these issues. I enrolled in the Yoga Therapy program at Loyola Marymount in 2012, and studied there for two years. I did a further training at Mockingbird Yoga in Eagle Rock and began teaching there in December of 2014. To this day, I vividly remember that first class in London and the early years of discovery, when practicing yoga felt like a great adventure. I always keep this in mind when I'm teaching, and I endeavor to create an environment where students can explore the practice and cultivate a deeper experience of themselves.
