Though introduced to a version of the Sun Salutation at a very young age, it wasn't until 2011 that I really discovered yoga. Unable to afford classes at the time, I took up a regular personal practice derived from the basic teachings of Baba Ram Dass contained in his book Remember, Be Here Now. After 18 years as a competitive swimmer, I was inspired and excited to embark on this new exploration of the body and mind. Within one year, I was sure it was my Dharma to become a yoga instructor and I began researching 200 hour certification programs, which I completed in 2012 at the majestically magical Pavones Yoga Center in Pavones, Costa Rica. I returned to PYC this January as the assistant teacher for the 200 hour training program and have also begun accumulating hours towards my advanced 500 hour certification. With most of my training in Vinyasa Hatha Flow, Yin Yoga and Kundalini my classes offer an open and multidimensional atmosphere to match our multidimensional selves. I believe in the power of trusting your own inner Guru to guide you in following your truth and I nurture students to explore postures in whatever way feels natural and yummy. I seek to stimulate healing, compassion and confidence by encouraging my students to trust their bodies and feel safe to express their divine inner wisdom through movement.
