One of the main reasons yoga has become so popular is because it feels fabulous. It gives us a sense of freedom and a connection to ourselves that doesn’t happen in your ordinary exercise class. The practice of stepping into a class and deliberately choosing to go towards the challenge of putting ourselves in the postures builds invaluable life skills like keeping calm in the midst of chaos. Going deeper into your practice can give you access to exciting insights into your physical embodiment, a feeling of oneness with the universe, some serious yoga super powers, and at the least a really good nights sleep.

Each class in the series will include asana, anatomy and avatars. In other words each Tuesday evening will include a doable and difficult slow flow form practice with some fun prop breaks, some easy to understand anatomy, a little yoga philosophy, a short yoga nidra and a long savasana.

Props can really enhance your yoga practice so you can move deeper into the postures, and increase the sense of physical and spiritual freedom in your body. We’ll be working with props both to aid in accessing alignment and to add a deeper challenge to the practice. It’s going to be amazing!

For some, a little anatomy goes a long way; for others, they can’t get enough; others would just rather not - at all. We’ll talk a little bit about the major architecture of the body and some of the specific functions as a way of better understanding how to listen to what this temple we’re living in is trying to tell us.

There will also be a character from yoga philosophy assigned to each of the evenings that we will briefly discuss as a way of connecting and accessing the qualities embodied by said character.
